I was very facinated with beauty pageants. From the big 4 pageants to our local binibining pilipinas beauty pageant. It started when I was in second year high school after Sharmaine Rama Gutierez won as the second princess and the queen of asia and the pacific on the 43rd edition of miss world held in the beautiful country of south africa. Until then, i started gathering clippings of beauty pageant results from magazines and newspapers. I even asked my classmate to tore a page i saw in our school library. 1994, when the miss universe pageant was held again in our country, i wrote the local organizer and they sent me the programme but unfortunately, my bestfriend lost it. Day after day i use to visit a local bookstore trying my luck to find a magazine with beauty pageant news. I was so surprised when i saw the pageantry magazine (subscriptions please, harhar!) 50 pesos a copy. Since then i dont miss every single pageant on tv.
